Black Bridge Vineyard

Black Bridge Winery is focused on quality. Since 1997, we’ve cultivated grapes in our high altitude vineyards at Orchard Valley Farms. Our wines are produced using traditional, handcrafting techniques. Big, balanced Pinot Noir, Breaker Row Red, Farmers Ditch Red; crisp oak-kissed Chardonnay, charming Marcellina Riesling and more. Our Colorado wines are “small batch”, so stop by to sample and purchase in our tasting room, or shop year ’round online.

Western Colorado’s terrain and weather have produced ideal grape–growing country for more than a century. Nationally, Colorado is considered one of the finest emerging wine regions. Here in the West Elks, Orchard Valley Farms has been supplying some of Delta County’s finest wineries with grapes since 1997.

In 2004 we introduced the premier vintage of our own wines. Named for the nearby historic bridge, Black Bridge Winery produces a limited number of wines each year. Our offerings include:

Classic Reds and Red Blends
Pinot Noir (Estate Bottled)
Merlot (Estate Bottled)
Cabernet Sauvignon
Raven Lunatic
Farmer’s Ditch Red
Breaker Row Red

Classic Whites
Chardonnay (Oaky and Unoaked) (Estate Bottled)
Marcellina Riesling (Sweet and Dry) (Estate Bottled)
Alpine Mountain White

Fruit Wines – made with intensely flavored fruit from our orchards
Peach
Cherry
Some are big, some are fruity, and all are delicious.

Because our wines are produced in limited quantities, the wines you’ve sampled in our tasting room may be difficult to find elsewhere. While we encourage you to stock up at the tasting room, you can also purchase Black Bridge wines online.

Pinot Noir produces some of the finest wines in the world, but is difficult to cultivate. Long-time grower Lee Bradley is known for his pinot grapes – with its classic “pine cone” shaped cluster.

Black Bridge vineyard wine barrels
Topping the barrels is necessary because wine is lost during aging. This is called the “Angel’s Share.”
